Market Reports

CSU Extension has collected information on product prices in farmers markets around the state since 2011, and posted this information online for producers to use to help inform their marketing decisions. It is also useful to market managers who advise vendors on pricing. Products featured include fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, meats and some cut flowers.

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service collects information from sales persons, suppliers, brokers, and buyers on marketing conditions for hundreds of agricultural commodities. This information is then used to generate reports specific to what you are searching for.

The Agriculture Marketing Resource Center provides a virtual library of agriculture value-added opportunities, as well as business development and consulting resources for producers.

MarketMaker is a national network of states that connect farmers and fishermen with food retailers, grocery stores, processors, caterers, chefs, and consumers.

The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University has several classes in which students work directly with food and agricultural businesses to provide in-depth analysis of the business’ marketing, financial, and strategic position. Students undertake a feasibility study to assess one or more potential opportunities for the business to improve its performance, including finding new markets, reducing costs, or undertaking new investments. If you are interested in working with a student group, please click the link below. New businesses are selected each semester so if now is not the right time, please keep this opportunity in mind for the future.
