Overview
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM is a way of learning that combines these subjects to help students think creatively and solve problems. In STEM, students often do fun, hands-on projects that connect to real life. This helps them get ready for higher education, career pathway trainings or certifications, and future jobs, all the while learning to understand how things work in the world around them.

About Us
The 4-H School Enrichment and Outreach projects are designed to enhance classroom education with experience-based learning – ”Learn By Doing”.
Classroom-ready projects teach life skills as well as specific subject matter with the help of 4-H Curriculum.
We have a variety of different topics and curriculum we can cover or provide to you! Many of our programs are aligned to CDOE Standards for easy classroom or after school implementation.
We invite you to check out our STEM Loan Out Kits, available through the TRA Extension STEM Loan Out program. We currently have 25+ kits fully stocked with lesson plans, hands on activities, and most supplies. Kits can be checked out for 30 days to classrooms, care centers, and home use!
We happily provide many of our programs at low cost or free to our communities! Any cost that is associated with our programs is for supplies related to re-stocking or replacing.

Sample programs we provide:
Embryology – 1st-HS Grades: Hatch chicken eggs in your classroom! Kit includes supplies, 5 lessons that are aligned to CDOE standards, and supplemental curriculum. Kits may be checked out for in-classroom or home use! $20 rental fee for the incubator. Eggs available seasonally.
Germs are Everywhere! – K-5th Grades: This kit covers everything from Germ doubling, to Swabbing germs in your environment, to talking about barriers that protect us from germs, and YES! Handwashing and Glo-Germ activities for all ages! This kit can be used at every age level and is one of our most popular requests! Pair it up with our online ViralCycles Lessons and students will cover everything about bacteria and viruses from shape to transmission!
Kevin 2.0!
Soil Science – 2nd-HS Grades: Soil is the foundation to plant growth, but not all soils are alike. There are different particle sizes in different types of soils. Students learn to collect different samples of soils from around the area and separate the layers and particles. They also perform a survey of the area’s that soils were collected from and journal what soil combinations serve as the best for plant growth. (See sample video above!)
Kevin the Skeleton – All Grades: Kevin 2.0 is the newest addition to our arsenal of STEM related items! Kevin is a full sized plaster model of the human skeletal system. Traveling with him comes a fully annotated poster of the bones, muscles, and even nerve pathways for students to learn about. Check him out today! $5 rental fee.
Dissection Studies – Middle/High School: Have a class excited about dissection studies, but lacking the equipment? We have a full dissection kit set up for 20 individuals to complete dissection studies. Our STEM Agent is also available to complete in-person dissection learning and can help you source materials for your class session. 2 Microscopes are also available for loan out if you want to look closer at samples or related studies.
