A Lasting Legacy – Workshop for Farm and Ranch Families

November 28th, 2018 at the Delta, CO Bill Heddles Recreation Center from 12-5pm

Leaving a legacy that everyone can love depends on parents and their adult children being able to bridge the communication gap. It’s hard to talk about death and what will happen after a loved one dies, but planning for the passing of a lasting legacy from one generation to the next gives families the opportunity to share their most important beliefs, wishes and lessons learned throughout a lifetime.

In this workshop you will learn about:

  • Sharing your values and life lessons with future generations
  • Gifting your personal possessions having emotional value
  • Planning for important end-of-life issues
  • Transferring your finances and real estate

2019 Basic Ag Marketing Lunch & Learn – Webinar Series

The Basic Ag Marketing Webinar is meant to be an introductory course covering the mechanics of cash, futures, and options markets. This webinar is designed to meet the needs of agriculture producers who are new to commodity marketing and are looking for techniques to improve the prices they receive for their crops and livestock.

The webinar format is interactive and will allow for live questions. Each webinar session will be recorded for re-view if you miss a session or for additional viewing to clarify concepts.

  • January 15th – Using the Futures Market to Manage Price Risk
  • January 22nd – Using the Options Market to Manage Price Risk

Workshop – Rangelands from A to Z: AgrAbility to Zeedyk

November 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2018 at the Wine County Inn in Palisade, CO

Join the Colorado Section of the Society for Range Management (CSSRM) for the workshop: “Rangelands From A to Z: AgrAbility to Zeedyk”

Natural resource professionals, agricultural producers, ranchers and members of the public are all invited to attend. This annual workshop offers information, strategies, and new technologies for those working in agriculture, natural resources, and rangeland management.

Topics include: Herefords in a Colorado Pasture

  • Strategies for Addressing Invasive Species
  • Wetland Restoration
  • Climate Change Effects on Pollinators
  • Conservation Easements
  • Wild Horse Management

We will also feature information on the Colorado AgrAbility Project, which informs, educates, and assist farmers, ranchers, farm workers, and their families with disabilities, so they can continue to have successful careers in agriculture.

Registration is $25 for students, $60 for CSSRM members & nonmembers prior to October 21. After October 21 registration is $70 for members/nonmembers. The student rate will not change. For vendors or sponsors interested, the registration fee is $100 which includes a booth, registration for one employee and acknowledgement on the agenda. Additional employees can register for $25.
